Laser Gum Recontouring

At Studio B Smiles, our clinicians will use a soft tissue laser much like an artist would use a paint brush to help correct a gummy smile. The laser reshapes the position of the gum tissue by vaporizing the unwanted gum tissue. This outpatient procedure is very simple and actually requires very little anesthetic. Patients can expect to resume their daily activities immediately and a full recovery can be achieved in just a few days.

The soft tissue laser can be used in a variety of ways. At Studio B Smiles, this laser is used most frequently in our Smile Makeovers. Our clinicians often use the laser to remove excess gum tissue and reshape the gums to achieve a more symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing look.

The soft tissue laser can also be used to help treat periodontal pocketing or other poor oral health conditions by removing unnecessary or infected tissue that traps bacteria around the teeth. Additionally, many oral lesions or ulcers can be treated with the laser in order to eliminate pain and speed recovery.
